Event Details:	Ukrainian Music Initiative (2^nd program) CONSONANCE Ukrainian Composers and the Western Canon Pavlo Gintov, Margarita Rovenskaya, Valeriya Sholokhova, Vira Slywotzky ~ Ukrainian Music Initiative's second program celebrates two centuries of musical dialogue and cultural exchange between Ukrainian composers and their counterparts further west. The music of this all-new concert will surprise, move and entrance. - Join Ukrainian Music Initiative for a selection of works by Zoltan Almashi, Theodore Akimenko, Dmytro Bortniansky, Sergei Bortkiewicz, Vladimir Dyck, Bohuslav Martinů, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Stefania Turkewich along with the stories behind the compositions ~ Rita writes: I'm particularly honored to perform Deuxième légende hébraïque for piano and cello by Vladimir Dyck, a Ukrainian Jewish composer whose life and voice were cut short in Auschwitz. As someone who shares that Ukrainian Jewish heritage, I feel a profound connection to this piece. Performing it allows us to honor his voice. -
