American Support Committee for the Center on the History of Ukraine’s Nation-building Movements in the 20th Century at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA

Ukrainian communities across America will host Town Hall meetings with Dr. Volodymyr Viatrovych. The purpose is to bring attention to the programs and projects at and to raise funds for the new Center on the History of Ukraine’s Nation-building Movements in the 20th Century at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA).  Dr. Volodymyr will speak on “Ukraine’s post-totalitarian experience in restoring its history under foreign occupation.”

Dr. Viatrovych is a prominent historian, researcher, author, and leader in Ukraine’s developing civil society. He is Director of the new Center on the History of Ukraine’s Nation-building Movements in the 20th Century at NaUKMA.  He chairs the Academic Council at the Center for Research on the Liberation Movement (CDVR). He also is a member of the Board of Directors at the Lonsky Prison National Memorial Museum. Until 2010, he served as Director of the State Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
