Prof. Cheryl  A. Madden has been awarded The Order of Princess Olha by Former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko for her annotated bibliography of English language sources on the Holodomor in 2008.  she was the guest editor of the Canadian Slavic Studies Holodomor Commemorative Editions, 2003 & 2008 and the Key note speaker at the Soyuz Ukrainok Holodomor Commemorative Event Denver, Colorado, 2003, among other honors.
